Elizabeth Taylor Speech (Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert) / Discurso Elizabeth Taylor (Concierto Tributo a Freddie Mercury)

Elizabeth Taylor Speech
Length 4:10
Dialogue:
Don't worry, I'm not going to sing. We are here to celebrate the life of Freddie Mercury. An extraordinary rock star, who rushed across our cultural landscape like a comet shooting across the sky. We are here also to tell the whole world that he, like others we have lost to AIDS, died before his time. The bright light of his talent still exhilarates us even now that his life has been so cruelly extinguished. It needn't have happened, it shouldn't have happened, please, let's not it happen again. Each day, around the world, five thousand people are infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Just last week, it was reported in the United States alone, that there are nine thousand actual cases of AIDS among teenage and young adults, with thousands more that probably don't even know they're infected. (Member of audience shouts 'Get off') I'll get off in a minute. I'll get off, I have something to say. There's seventy, there's seventy thousand people in this stadium tonight. Look at yourselves, look at how many you are. In just two short weeks, there will be as many new infections as there are people here tonight. Please don't let it happen to you, you are the future of our world, you are the best and the brightest, you are the shining lights that will illuminate a better world tomorrow. Protect yourselves. If you have sex, everytime you have sex, use a condom, every single time. Straight sex, gay sex, bisexual sex, use a condom, whoever you are, and if you share drugs, don't share a needle. Tonight, we are here to raise money to help those living with AIDS. Tonight, we're here to send them a message that we care. But I'm also here with a message for each and every one of you. Protect yourselves, love yourselves, respect yourselves, because I will keep on telling you until you do, and I won't give in, and I won't give up, because the world needs you to live. You see, we really love you. We really care. God bless. Bye

Elizabeth Taylor discurso Duración 4:10 Diálogo: No te preocupes, no voy a cantar. Miren ustedes, a ver cuántos te encuentres. Proteger a vosotros mismos.

Lyrics:
There is a time for reason
And there is a time for our truth
So this song is for the innocent
Who never had their youth

Oh, this is a time for action
There's no more sitting on the fence
Oh, what we need is salvation
Oh, I said this is my declaration

(Amandla, Amandla) Amandla, Amandla, yeah
(Amandla, Amandla) Let's sing it together, sing it, sing it
(Amandla, Amandla) Amandla, Amandla, yeah
(Amandla, Amandla) Let's sing it together

Oh, the power comes from believing
And I believe in human kind
There is a strength in numbers
And the meeting of our minds

Then let us, the people
Take control of the situation
And rise up together
As one together
Oh, and not one nation

(Amandla, Amandla) Amandla, Amandla, yeah
(Amandla, Amandla) Let's sing it together, sing it, sing it
(Amandla, Amandla) Amandla, Amandla, yeah
(Amandla, Amandla) Let's sing it together

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ
Father, we praise you for this wonderful gift that you have given to us
Father, I pray and commit America and Africa into your hands
Father, I pray and commit these two countries into your plight
Father, I pray that you bring peace, and love, and unity, between these two countries
Father, I pray that you bring us all together to fight AIDS
And bring solution to AIDS, and come against and abandon the principality demons in the mighty name of Jesus Christ
What have all the devil has part of all these countries
Abandon them in the mighty name of Jesus Christ
And bring solution to AIDS, in Jesus mighty name I pray at Thanksgiving, Amen.

Amandla, Amandla, yeah
Let's sing it together
Amandla, Amandla, yeah
Let's sing it together, sing it, sing it

(Amandla, Amandla) Amandla, Amandla, yeah
(Amandla, Amandla) Oh, let's sing it together
(Amandla, Amandla) Amandla, Amandla, yeah
(Amandla, Amandla) Let's sing it together

(Amandla, Amandla) Amandla, Amandla
(Amandla, Amandla) Sing it, sing it
(Amandla, Amandla) Amandla, Amandla, yeah
(Amandla, Amandla) Yeah

(Amandla, Amandla)
(Amandla, Amandla) Sing it, sing it
(Amandla, Amandla)
(Amandla, Amandla) Sing it, sing it

The Call - 46664

46664 - The Call
Written and recorded by Queen (and possibly others). Length 4:36 approx.
The studio version of this track has not been officially released, yet.
The live version is basically the first half of the track, the studio version then continues with an orchestral section, another verse and chorus, then an instrumental outro.
There seem to be at least two versions of this track available.
The first (Mix 1) is in relatively poor quality and was played on Capitol Radio in the UK in 2003. MP3's of this track omit some of the intro reducing the time to 4:26.
The second version (Mix 2), is available in near-studio quality, and has a single lyric change at the start of the track (this lyric was also sung on the live performance).
There are also some differences in the volumes especially during the quieter sections of the track, there may also be some other changes, but the sound quality makes it hard to compare.

The Call - 46664
Yeah
There was a man in the street just the other day
With a tear and a hand thin long hand stretched out looking my way
Said 'your money, your sympathy, I really don't need
What I want is you to see how my brothers bleed'
Doctor, oh doctor, my world needs attention
Got sickness and poverty just too bad to mention
Got people too blind to see what's going by
My country stored it's wealth and now it can't figure why
But the rest of the world wants it back now
They got no weapons so they just bug us for the crack now
You gonna stand by and let this go on indefinitely?
Let our leaders articulate our indifference with impunity?
Are you a man?
Or just a number?
46664
46664
46664
46664
Help, help, we need you
Your world needs you
Needs you to know
Needs you to sit up
Needs you to take action and say
No, this will not happen
No, we will not let this happen
No, it shall not be one law for the black, one law for the white
It shall not be one law for the man, one law for the woman
It shall not be one law for the heterosexual, one law for the homosexual
One law for the rich country, one law for the poor country
It shall be one law only
It shall be equality, equality of opportunity
Equality of healthcare, equality of power
Equality of civil rights
Are you a woman?
Or just a number?
Make the call
46664
46664
46664
46664
Yeah
So people, will we let these children die
So we get less mouths to feed
Or shall we ????? and administer to them in their hour of need
AIDS is the terror our children must fear
AIDS is the name we shudder just to hear
AIDS is the word at the back of our minds
AIDS is like no other, the threat of all mankind
AIDS is the call to tear the boundaries down
The issue we must clearly face now
Equality, equality of opportunity
Equality of healthcare, equality of power
Equality of civil rights
Equality of all humanity
Are you a man?
This is the call
